By day, I am a game artist in the bay area. At night, I tend to spend my precious and seemingly vanishing free time sketching, or painting with real paints and real paper. REAL!
Some back story. I'm an adopted Korean that was raised in rural Michigan. I'm talking three street lights in this city, and the nearest mall/entertainment was an hour away. I left in 2001 to go to the Ringling College of Art and Design (back in my day it was called the Ringling School of Art and Design), and graduated with honors in Illustration in 2005.
Since 2009, I've worked in the gaming industry, working at major companies such as Zynga, Storm8, and Jam City (Formerly known as SGN). Photoshop and Illustrator are my go-to's in the digital world, but I like to play around in Flash for simple animations.
I'm trying to not burn out my retinas, so when I'm not at the computer, I play with traditional media such as gouache, oils, and pen and ink. Lately I've been really enjoying drawing silly comics that evoke a lot of emotions and stories from other people. I also love to paint pet portraits as my zen time, and go plein-air painting with friends.
