A still life is so much more than just painting an object. With a still life I am choosing the subject, the lighting, and composition. Sometimes it takes me just as long preparing the subject as it does painting it. Working with still lifes helps me slow down and focus on color and lighting which again is a tool that can be applied in any medium.
Plein air paintings all done from life which really has taught me so much and translates into my digital work.
Paintings are primarily done in gouache or oil painting in a single session.
My fine art business has lead me to many amazing opportunities, such as working with large brands, and traveling the country for nationally renown plein air events.
